Having a Hail of a good time
We were on our way to the Edmonton mall and stopped by Grandma and Grandpa Beckstead's house for a couple days. One of those days happened to be the fourth of July, and we happened to be at the fairgrounds to watch the fireworks. We watched other people lighting off fireworks for about 30 minutes. Then the wind kicked up at around 60 mph. We (and every other car in the county) decided to leave at that point. We had been in out car for about a minute when the hail started. The first hit sounded like someone had thrown a baseball at our van. I am amazed that we didn't lose a window in the van. The hail lasted around 20 minutes. On the way back to grandma's house, we saw trees down and branches were all over the road. The storm knocked out power to everyone in Havre and sixty miles away. Around midnight we had tornado warnings. They had 3 tornadoes touch down in the area.
