At Lowe's, the kids built Sandman's plane (from the new movie Rise of the Guardians). It was actually a better looking plane than I thought we were going to build. The kids had fun at both places.
As soon as we got home from doing the projects, we loaded the kids into the truck and headed to Knox canyon to cut our Christmas tree. This was the third year we went to that area. It was weird loading up the kids to look for a Christmas tree when it was 50 degrees outside. We didn't even encounter any snow until the last 100 yards on the road up the canyon. We went up to the exact same area we got our first tree. Jenny picked up a sled before we left, so the kids had fun riding in the sled while we hiked around looking for the perfect tree. We found our tree about 200 yards from the road.
Instead of going straight back to the truck, we spent about an hour letting the kids sled down the hill. They had a blast.
When they finally got too cold and wet to have fun, we headed back to the truck and enjoyed some hot chocolate.

When we got home we decorated the house and tree.
We took a break from decorating to have a weenie roast in the fireplace. We cooked the hot dogs and then had dinner on the floor.
To top it off, we told the kids they could have a sleepover in the living room with the Christmas lights on.
Unfortunately, the kids chose not to sleep, so they all ended up in their rooms by about 10:00. All in all, it was a pretty good day for the kids.
